The Rapid Response process is designed to link employees facing layoffs with the services and jobs available through local OhioMeansJobs Centers.
The Rapid Response team provides local on-site assistance and a coordinated presentation of available resources and services to help employees, unions, companies and communities deal with large and small layoffs.
Rapid Response benefits are:
- Outplacement activities to assist workers in finding new jobs.
- Assistance in stabilizing the employee-employer environment during a layoff/closing.
- Help maintaining worker productivity prior to layoff.
- Coordination of delivery of services to the employees.
- Unemployment Compensation representatives are available to provide information and answer questions on UC benefits or Trade Readjustment Allowance program.
Employers planning layoffs are urged to contact the local OhioMeansJobs Center to schedule an on-site visit by the Rapid Response team.
