Our workshops help to prepare job seekers for their next job
These workshops are open to anyone registered with OhioMeansJobs Centers in Mahoning and Columbiana Counties. If you see a workshop you want to attend but it is offered at a Center you do not normally visit do not hesitate to call and register.
Basic Workshops include:
Beginning With Computers
Have little or no experience on computers? Afraid of the mouse? This workshop will give you the basic skills.
Interviewing
Learn tips for having a successful employment interview. Review questions employers are asking and learn how to answer the tough questions.
Resume (you must be familiar with using a computer)
Learn the importance of tailoring your resume to specific job openings. Both counties require you to be familiar with computers and have your resume created in your OhioMeansJobs.com account.
Career Exploration (you must be familiar with using a computer)
If you are searching for a new career, this workshop will help you find a career path that suits your skills, abilities, experience and personality. This workshop requires that you are familiar with computers and complete the Career Profiler in your OhioMeansJobs. com account prior to the workshop.
Online Job Search (you must be familiar with using a computer)
Learn how to search for jobs on the Internet and how to complete online job applications as well as make email attachments and "cut and paste." (You must be familiar with computers and must have an email address.)
OhioMeansJobs Orientation
This workshop will inform you of all the OhioMeansJobs Center services that can help you prepare for new employment in your current or new occupation.
PLEASE NOTE: Several of these workshops require you to be able to use a computer. If you need to brush up or acquire basic computer skills, it is suggested that you attend the Beginning Computer Workshop at your local OhioMeansJobs Center or one of the computer literacy programs that may be offered at a public library, school or government agency in your area.
